Code of Conduct

  1. There is no way to guarantee confidentiality when online. That being said, we aim for our meetings to be as safe and private of a container as possible. To help ensure safety and privacy, we ask that all attendees refrain from
    • Recording meetings, by audio, video, or both;
    • Taking screenshots or photos of any part of the meetings;
    • Sharing or publishing any part of the text chat or transcription;
    • Sharing, or publishing anything that has happened (actions, words, implications) during the meeting;
    • Discussing any part of the meeting with anyone who did not attend the meeting.
  2. Our meeting space is one where marginalized voices are centered. Group administrators may choose to use a tool such as the Progressive Clock to help ensure equitable sharing time.
  3. To help ensure the meetings remain relevant working in the fields of disability and sexuality, the meeting hosts kindly ask that all attending limit their engagement in “cross talk,” which is a conversation considered off-topic.
  4. To help ensure the comfort of everyone in the meeting, we ask that attendees refrain from unsolicited flirting.
  5. Forms of violence will not be tolerated. This is a non-exhaustive list, but includes acts of bias, discrimination, hateful language, oppression, prejudice, and supremacism due to
    • Age (ageism, adultism);
    • Class and caste (classism);
    • Disability (including physical, sensory and intellectual disability, work-related injury, medical conditions, and mental, psychological and learning disabilities) (ableism);
    • Employment status and activity (including sex work, under the table work, unemployment, retirement, career changes, and inability to work;
    • Family orientation (including carer and parental status, blended homes, and non-nuclear families)
    • Family planning (including abortion, birth control, pregnancy, and breastfeeding);
    • Immigration status;
    • Language, including spelling and grammar (linguicism);
    • Marital and relationship status (including monogamy and nonmonogamy, divorce, separation, and cohabitation);
    • Physical features (lookism, sizeism);
    • Political belief or activity;
    • Race (colorism, ethnocentrism, nationalism / nativism, racism, and xenophobia);
    • Regionalism;
    • Religious belief and activity;
    • Sex and gender identity (sexism, misandry, misogyny; transphobia; and including discrimination against intersex and nonbinary folks);
    • Sexual or kink activity (consensual, either solo or between individuals 18+ years of age);
    • Sexual orientation (biphobia, heterosexism, heteronormativity, homophobia);
    • Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) status;
    • or personal association with someone who has, or is assumed to have, one of the above characteristics.

We include COVID-19 denialism and minimization, including anti-masking, as forms of violence that will not be tolerated.

Meeting hosts reserve the right to warn, temporarily remove, or permanently ban anyone engaging in the above conduct.
